St Jude’s Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an Early Years Practitioner in our Early Years Unit, primarily based in our preschool. The successful candidate will work alongside our Reception teacher, the EYFS Lead, and other practitioners in a vibrant and fun environment that welcomes children at the start of their learning journey.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a minimum Level 3 full and relevant qualification in Early Years/Childcare.
  • Hold a valid paediatric first aid certificate or be willing to receive training.
  • Be an enthusiastic practitioner with a passion for early years education of 3- and 4-year-olds.
  • Have secure subject knowledge of the Early Years handbook and expectations.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the room, including supervision of children and staff.
  • Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour, supporting children’s self-regulation.
  • Provide feedback to parents regarding children’s progress and achievement.
  • Be positive, pro-active, and have the ability to reflect and improve.
  • Play a full part in the wider life of the school.
