The role of our Support Workers is to provide support to residents in our aged care facility or clients in our mental health hostel. Support workers are tasked with creating a home‑like environment for everyone at the facility, whilst undertaking duties such as assistance with daily living tasks or personal care needs, medication administration or the preparation and serving of meals. Our Support Workers work closely with our Registered Nurse, who will provide guidance and supervision throughout the day.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensuring that care service delivery is based on the goals, needs and preferences of residents
- Contribute to the creation of a home‑like environment for residents
- Maintain a safe and comfortable working and living environment
- Participate in feedback, reporting and a continuous improvement model for the facility
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Our ideal candidates will have previous experience working within residential aged care facilities. We are looking for naturally caring, empathetic people who take joy from playing a crucial role in the care and assistance of their clients. Our ideal candidates are also committed team players who are passionate about enhancing the lives and independence of the residents they work with. They also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A Cert III in Aged Care or Individual Support is desirable, but not essential.
