The Governing Body of St Joseph's Catholic School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking a reliable, hardworking and flexible Minibus Driver / Assistant Caretaker to join our dedicated site and support team. This is a dual role combining safe pupil transport with a range of caretaking duties to help maintain our school environment.
Responsibilities
- Minibus Driver Duties: Safely transport pupils on designated routes, trips and activities. Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the minibus is clean, roadworthy and compliant. Maintain accurate mileage and inspection records. Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and school procedures.
- Assistant Caretaker Duties: Support with the opening/closing of the school site as required. Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks. Set up rooms, move furniture and help prepare facilities for school events. Carry out regular site checks to ensure safety, cleanliness and good order. Support with grounds maintenance and waste management.
Qualifications
- Full D1 driving licence with MIDAS qualification (MIDAS training will be provided).
- A safe, responsible approach to driving and pupil supervision.
- Good practical/DIY skills and willingness to undertake manual tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safeguarding.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing daily demands.
Employment details
- 37 hours per week - Term Time Only (39 weeks).
- Grade 3 Salary: Β£21,423 - Β£22,103 pa (pro rata).
