We have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our school. The successful postholder will primarily provide 1:1 support for a pupil with identified additional needs, ensuring they can access learning, achieve their individual targets and participate fully in school life.
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant you will also work under the direction of teaching and senior staff to support pupils' access to learning and to provide effective classroom and pastoral support, both individually and in small groups. The role may also involve supporting pupils with routine medical needs, in line with individual healthcare plans and school policies, including assistance with prescribed medication and agreed medical procedures.
We are seeking a conscientious, reliable and committed individual who is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential and who will actively promote and uphold the ethos and values of our school. You will contribute positively to the learning environment by encouraging inclusion, independence and positive behaviour.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working with children or young people in an educational setting, a good understanding of pupils' learning and development needs, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils.
Salary: Grade D, SCP 5 - 7 (£25,583 to £26,403 per annum, pro rata)
Hours: 16.25 Hours per Week, Temporary Contract attached to funding, Term Time Only.
