Learning Support Assistant 32 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:15pm on 3 days and 8:30am - 4:15pm on 2 days, Term Time Only). St Mary’s Catholic School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our strong SEND/Inclusion team, supporting pupils across the secondary curriculum.

  • Provide positive, proactive support to pupils in English, Maths, Science, PE and other subjects.
  • Deliver targeted, evidence‑based interventions that accelerate progress for vulnerable learners, including SEND pupils, Pupil Premium recipients and other disadvantaged groups.
  • Lead small‑group interventions and focus sessions in specialist areas (literacy, numeracy, science or social skills).
  • Support individuals, small groups and occasionally whole classes; observe pupils and provide regular feedback on academic, social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENDCo to adapt provision and maximise impact.
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team with strong English and Maths skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a good level of ICT competence.
  • Demonstrate flexible, supportive leadership in a busy team environment.
  • Undergo a DBS disclosure (required for all successful applicants).

Administrative Assistant St Michael’s Catholic School requires an Administrative Assistant to support a wide range of duties in the busy main school office.

  • Administer student data: Free School Meals, Pupil Premium, authorised absences, student references, school trips and events.
  • Provide receptionist cover duties, support with student attendance and finance administration.
