St. Joseph’s are currently seeking a HLTA. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

  • To complement the work of teachers, with responsibility for teaching and learning activities which may include planning, preparing and delivering specialist support to individual pupils, groups and/or leading learning activities within an area of specialism.
  • To deliver whole class teaching cover, for example during teacher’s PPA time.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or supervision of other teaching assistants, including allocating and monitoring work, mentoring and training.
  • To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • HLTA status and a relevant NQF/QCF Level 3 qualification.
  • Training in relevant learning strategies / curriculum / learning areas.
  • Experience in delivering lessons to individuals, groups and classes.
  • Experience of preparing and developing resources to meet learning needs & for education plans.
  • Experience of working within a schools’ ethos and supporting the aims of the school.
