St Joseph’s RC High School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with children who have recognised educational and pastoral needs, under the direction/supervision of teaching staff.

Responsibilities will include supporting students with a variety of needs, particularly Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, to:

  • access the curriculum and raise their achievement
  • develop students' study and organisational skills
  • contribute to the delivery of differentiated curricula
  • enable meaningful inclusion and access to learning for these students

We are looking for a teaching assistant who can work with individuals, build positive relationships with students to promote interaction and learning. At St Joseph’s, we motivate and engage children to believe in themselves through matching care and education to meet their needs. Whilst previous experience is desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and resilience are just as important.
