Job Summary
St Joseph's Hospital are looking for a Senior Physiotherapist who will be responsible for the management of an independent clinical caseload, with clinical responsibilities pertaining to the everyday organisation and efficient running of the Physiotherapy service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for assisting in prioritising patient referrals, allocating and organising the work of colleagues and assistant staff to meet service priorities on a daily basis.
- You will be responsible for organising and planning your own caseload to meet service and patient priorities, sharing your time between outpatient and inpatient activity, readjusting priorities as situations arise.
- You will ensure the provision of a comprehensive physiotherapy service, ensuring that all treatments and interventions are of a consistently high standard, evidence informed and patient focused.
- You will adopt a flexible and participative approach to innovation and change and promote patients' individuality and dignity at all times.
- You will be required to participate in evening, weekend and bank holiday working in conjunction with meeting the service needs of the Centre and hospital.
- You will support the orthopaedic on all rota.
- You will be required to participate in CPD sessions/initiatives and in-service training programmes.
- You will be included in a dedicated mentoring structure and participate in a varied programme of clinical review and development; to include patient clinical reasoning, notes review, watched assessments and feedback.
Person Specification

Essential
- Qualified to a minimum degree level in Physiotherapy.
- MCSP or equivalent.
- Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered.
- Relevant experience in treating patients within Outpatient and Hydrotherapy settings.
- You will have completed a comprehensive series of rotations to include major specialities (Orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, neurology, trauma and ITU, musculoskeletal outpatients and intermediate care at junior grade level).
- Excellent communication skills, communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. This includes patients, hospital colleagues, Consultants, senior management, GP’s, and other agencies.
Desirable
- Post graduate experience of minimum 4 years in MSK Outpatients.
- Understand effective marketing and assist the team in effectively managing and controlling the budget.
