Our Volunteer Drivers play an important role in collecting and transporting donated goods between the Hospice and our local shops, as well as helping with stock requirements. This flexible role suits people who enjoy being active, working with others, and contributing to a worthwhile cause. Whether you’re interested in gaining experience, meeting new people, or staying active, volunteering with us is a rewarding way to support our work and help raise essential funds.
Key tasks:
- Collecting and delivering donated items to shops
- Loading and unloading bags, boxes, and other donations
This role involves some lifting. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and offer full health and safety training to all volunteers.
Time requirement:
One morning per week 9am – 11am (Thursdays). Times and days may vary.
Skills and qualities required:
- A full, valid UK driving licence
- Appropriate insurance for driving our vehicles
- Ability to work well as part of a team with good communication skills
- Volunteers must be aged 21 or over and have at least three years’ driving experience
- Willingness to complete an annual DVLA licence check
