We are seeking to appoint a Teaching & Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated SEND team. This role will primarily support pupils within the English department, with a particular focus on learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL). The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support, helping pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in pupils’ learning and development.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
- Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards.
- Previous experience of working with EAL pupils.
- Understanding of the education system.
- Understanding of how children learn.
- A sound grasp of the concept of inclusive practice.
- Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection issues.
