About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Manager and Mental Health Lead to lead our pastoral and wellbeing provision.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils' social, emotional and mental health needs, coordinating targeted interventions, working with families and external agencies, and promoting a positive culture of inclusion, attendance and personal development across the school.

Key Duties Include

  • Leading and developing the school's pastoral, mental health and wellbeing provision.
  • Coordinating targeted interventions and support programmes for vulnerable pupils.
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and attending safeguarding meetings where appropriate.
  • Developing partnerships with CAMHS, Educational Psychologists and other external agencies.
  • Delivering staff training on mental health awareness, trauma-informed practice and effective pastoral strategies.
  • Supporting programmes linked to pupil wellbeing and personal development.
  • Ensuring school policies and procedures relating to wellbeing, personal development and inclusion are effectively implemented.
  • Supporting pupils' successful reintegration into mainstream lessons and contributing to attendance support strategies.
  • Maintaining a purposeful and supportive atmosphere within the pastoral provision area.
  • Promoting positive behaviour through effective behaviour management and restorative approaches.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on mental health, wellbeing and personal development.
  • Creating, monitoring and reviewing personalised support plans for pupils and sharing appropriate strategies with staff.
  • Working collaboratively with pupils, parents/carers, staff and external agencies to secure positive outcomes.
  • Monitoring, recording and analysing intervention data to evaluate the impact of pastoral support.
  • Making referrals to external agencies and attending multi-agency meetings as required.
  • Developing and delivering support programmes for parents/carers.
  • Contributing to the school's strategic priorities relating to attendance, behaviour, inclusion, wellbeing and personal development.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage intervention records and data.
  • A resilient, empathetic and solution-focused approach.
  • Relevant mental health, pastoral or safeguarding qualifications/training.
