We are seeking to appoint a skilled, proactive and customer‑focused Senior IT Technician to join our school IT team. Working closely with the Network Manager, you will maintain and develop the school and Trust IT networks, systems, hardware and software. You will provide technical support to curriculum and administrative users, support classroom IT, assist with the school website and online services, and act in a technical capacity on behalf of the Network Manager when required.
Responsibilities
- First and second‑line support for staff and students
- Network monitoring and user account administration
- Hardware and software maintenance, including servers, backups, antivirus and security systems
- Involvement in new IT projects
- Occasional onsite support to local schools
- Audio‑visual support for school events
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or 4, equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in an IT support environment
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy, including GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths
- Current valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle desirable
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication with staff, students, parents, suppliers and external providers
- Well organised, able to prioritise workload and committed to delivering a high‑quality IT service
