St John’s School provides special education for children and young people with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, aged two to nineteen. We are part of Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust.

Role

St John’s is seeking a reliable and proactive Transport Operative to oversee the safe and well-organised arrival and departure of pupils who travel to school via external SEND transport providers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pupils are greeted safely.
  • Manage transitions between transport and school.
  • Follow all safeguarding and communication procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be calm, organised, confident working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills with a range of adults.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references, social media checks, health clearance and a probationary period.

Part-time hours: 8.45 – 10.30 am & 2.30 – 4:00 pm, 3 h 15 min per day, Monday-Friday, 16 h 15 min per week (term time only).

Remuneration

1CS point 3 – £12.85 per hour (£9,563.81 actual pa).
