Health Support Workers
37 hours per week Term Time + 5 Training Days
Main duties and responsibilities:
Health Support Workers will support the medication, care and health needs of pupils with a range of medical needs across the school. The post holder will work alongside healthcare professionals and education staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
This post involves:
- Preparing and administering medication
- Preparing and administering gastro feeds
- Maintaining accurate records in relation to medications and feeds and training
- Liaising with the nursing team and class staff to arrange medical training
- Supporting pupils’ healthcare
- Supporting pupils with a range of medical needs, including complex, ongoing and emergency healthcare needs or needs required by specific pupils, in line with care plans, training and competency sign-off.
- Supporting the personal care needs of pupils
- Working in co-operation with other team members and health professionals
- Being responsible for ordering, stocktaking and replenishing first aid supplies across the school
