St John’s Mosley Common CE Primary School is seeking to appoint an efficient, enthusiastic and approachable School Administration Officer. The role operates as part of a highly motivated team and must support the Christian ethos of the school.
Hours: 32.5 per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm (30‑minute lunch break), term time only.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the smooth and efficient running of the school office, building good relationships with pupils, parents, staff, Governors and outside agencies. As the first point of contact for parents, carers and visitors, the Administration Officer must be welcoming, personable and represent the school in a professional and friendly manner.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain the school office as an efficient service.
- Build professional relationships with parents/carers through effective communication, answering telephone calls/emails and resolving queries.
- Adhere to the school’s GDPR practices and policies.
- Maintain the school asset system and conduct an annual equipment inventory.
- Keep up‑to‑date training records for child protection, safeguarding, first aid and other requirements.
- Arrange reactive work on site as instructed by the caretaker and/or school staff.
- Manage stock and stationery ordering.
- Assist the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with scheduling meetings and training events.
- Assist with financial duties: collection and banking of monies, and general financial tasks including school meals.
- Undertake general reception and administration duties.
- Communicate with parents via the school text/email messaging service.
- Ensure pupil safety by following safeguarding measures and procedures.
- Assist with pupil first aid as necessary and liaise with parents/carers and staff.
- Perform any other tasks required to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school and office.
