This role is crucial in supporting the work of the Hospice to meet the highest standards of governance and compliance. You will need to support and work alongside all Hospice teams to achieve this at every level.

As a member of the Management Team, you will be responsible for developing a proactive and robust clinical quality, safety, infection prevention, control, and governance framework that enables St Johns to measure and continually improve the quality of its clinical services.

Excellent interpersonal, IT, analytical, and organizational skills are essential for this post. You can use your drive, compassion, and expertise to make a real difference to the care we provide to our patients and their loved ones.

This role is for 30 hours per week, and the pay listed is based on these hours.

The postholder will manage risk, incidents, audits, and clinical effectiveness programs to develop a high-quality governance and quality improvement strategy across the Hospice, in discussion with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing and Quality.

You will work closely with the Health and Safety Officer and the Head of Facilities to ensure the premises and equipment meet all regulatory and statutory requirements, keeping patients, families, staff, and volunteers safe, and ensuring compliance is reported quarterly to the Board.

You will ensure all governance administrative systems and processes are in place and operationally developed to enable effective assurance of monitoring, analysis, and reporting on clinical and non-clinical risk management.

As a member of the Hospice Management Team, contribute to the strategic development of services with an emphasis on governance and compliance. Maintain a clinical presence with frontline staff across relevant services, establishing a positive culture of transparency, learning, and improvement.

St Johns exists to provide skilled and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality. The Hospice offers care in various settings, serving local communities from Grasmere to Garstang and from Sedbergh to Morecambe. The Hospice is rated \’Good\’ by CQC.

Care at St Johns is provided free of charge. The NHS contributes approximately 25% of the Hospice\’s annual costs, with the remainder funded through public generosity.

Our vision is to put local patients and families at the heart of everything we do, ensuring the right care, in the right place, at the right time on the journey towards the end of life.

The Hospice employs around 220 staff and is supported by dedicated volunteers.

Governed by a Trustee Board, the Hospice is managed by a Senior Management Team. It is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, with governance and management responsibilities falling to the Board of Trustees.
