We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Teacher of A Level Economics to join our successful and well‑established department. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner wishing to further develop their teaching and pedagogy within a supportive environment. We are also open to applications from salaried SCITT trainees.
The position is part time, with flexibility in hours for candidates able to offer a second subject. Ideally, this second subject would be taught to at least GCSE level in RE, Geography, Travel & Tourism or Science, or to A Level in Computer Science.
The successful candidate will share our commitment to high standards of professionalism and academic achievement, be eager to develop their own practice in an environment that is both supportive and at the cutting edge of pedagogy and practice, and have a genuine passion for Economics and teaching young people. The candidate should be able to inspire students and be willing to go the extra mile to help our students achieve their full potential.
The Economics Department is committed to delivering a curriculum that is rich and diverse; students at SJB study Economics to improve their commercial awareness, enhance their strategic thinking and develop a greater understanding of the global business environment and how to influence it. Economics is a very popular subject at A Level and student outcomes are excellent. In 2025, 100% of students gained grades A‑C, with over 52% of these being A‑A.
