The Governors of this successful 11-18 Girls' Catholic Specialist Arts College wish to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual as a Student and Family Engagement Officer to work with students, parents/carers, staff and external agencies to improve student engagement and attendance.

Some core responsibilities include:

  • Promote a whole school approach to attendance and devise strategies and action plans for students whose attendance is falling.
  • Input attendance data and maintain accurate attendance records using the school's MIS.
  • Respond to student absence with phone contact, follow up home visits and/or meeting with parent/carers.
  • Identify attendance issues and patterns of absence.
  • Work with Attendance Manager to liaise with students who are transferring into the school to promote the school ethos of regular attendance.
  • Work in partnership with pastoral teams and external agencies to support attendance initiatives.
  • To support children in particular vulnerable groups and monitor support plans.
