Job Summary:
The Senior Sales and Marketing Executive plays a pivotal role in generating new venue‑hire business for St John’s Gate and Priory Church, two remarkable Grade I listed venues in the heart of central London. These iconic spaces provide a stunning and highly adaptable backdrop for a diverse programme of events, including weddings, private dinners, conferences and filming. The postholder will proactively raise the venues’ external profile through targeted sales and marketing activity, building strong relationships with local businesses and industry partners, expanding our client base and delivering ambitious new‑business sales targets. Every booking directly supports our charitable mission, with all income reinvested to help save lives by growing the power of first aid.
About You:
- Proven sales experience across corporate, wedding, filming and private events, with a strong track record of achieving targets and building repeat business.
- Skilled in developing marketing campaigns, promotional materials and identifying new on‑brand commercial opportunities to grow revenue and client base.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand client needs.
- Creative, proactive and results‑focused, able to work at pace, use initiative and balance independent working with effective teamwork.
- Confident building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, with strong networking and reporting abilities.
- Educated to GCSE level 4 (including Maths & English) with high levels of IT literacy including the use of Office 365 and CRM systems.
About the Role:
- Proactively grow the venue’s client base by identifying, pursuing and converting new commercial hire opportunities.
- Lead the development of promotional assets, marketing materials and targeted communications campaigns, informed by market research and benchmarking.
- Represent and promote the venue at events and exhibitions, delivering engaging show rounds and demonstrating expert knowledge of the spaces.
- Manage new business enquiries end to end, providing outstanding customer service, building repeat client relationships and ensuring smooth handover to operations.
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets, producing accurate sales reports and maintaining a strong commercial focus.
- Uphold brand values, protect the historic fabric and collections, and champion inclusive, compassionate leadership aligned with St John values.
