Job Summary

As Warehouse Team Coordinator at St John Ambulance, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our National Distribution Centre. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Manager, you will help oversee the safe receipt, preparation, storage, and despatch of stock, including dangerous goods, while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the warehouse team. You will champion quality and compliance standards across the operation, ensuring processes meet organisational policies and regulatory requirements, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a safe, reliable, and high-quality service that meets the needs of our customers and the wider organisation.

About You

  • Experience working within a warehouse or logistics environment, with a good understanding of operational processes, stock control, quality assurance, and health and safety requirements.
  • Previous experience of leading or supervising colleagues, with the ability to motivate a team, lead by example, and support the achievement of operational targets and KPIs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and external partners.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage stock accuracy, follow procedures, and maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and Microsoft applications, with the ability to confidently manage operational information and reports.
  • A commitment to living our HEART values, with a proactive, collaborative, and safety-focused approach; experience with pivot trucks and dangerous goods regulations would be desirable.

About the Role

  • Support the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Manager in the day-to-day running of the National Distribution Centre, deputising in their absence to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
  • Lead and coordinate warehouse activities, providing direction and support to Logistics Operatives to ensure accurate picking, packing, despatch, and achievement of operational KPIs.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes across goods in, storage, and despatch, ensuring all stock movements meet required standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Take responsibility for international despatch processes and dangerous goods distribution, ensuring all shipments are prepared, processed, and delivered in line with compliance and safety standards.
  • Maintain high standards of stock control, including audits, replenishment, inventory reporting, expiry date monitoring, and supporting annual stock takes and external audits.
  • Promote a safe, organised, and productive working environment by ensuring excellent housekeeping, compliance with health and safety requirements, site security, and providing operational support across the wider National Distribution Centre when required.
