The ESG Manager will lead and coordinate our Environmental, Social, and Governance agenda, shaping and delivering strategies that reflect our values and long‑term sustainability goals. You will drive the development and delivery of our Net Zero plan and ESG strategy, collaborating across departments, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with ISO14001 and other relevant standards. The role also oversees the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of an Environmental Management System embedded across operations, supporting strong environmental performance and regulatory compliance.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience in ESG, sustainability or corporate responsibility, delivering impactful initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong ability to lead and manage diverse teams, coordinating multiple complex projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing strategies, policies and processes that strengthen environmental management and drive continuous improvement.
About the Role
- Lead the development and implementation of the charity’s environmental strategy and policy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Drive cross‑functional working groups and sustainability initiatives that meet ISO 14001 standards and improve environmental performance.
- Monitor emerging ESG trends and legislation, maintaining the environmental compliance and risk registers with clear mitigation plans.
- Manage environmental data collection, analysis and assurance, including carbon footprint reporting across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and coordinate annual sustainability reporting and mandatory disclosures.
- Lead environmental training and engagement programmes for employees and volunteers, fostering awareness, accountability and a culture of sustainability.
