Job Summary
At St John Ambulance we are proud to be England’s first aid charity and have ambitious plans to become the leading authority in Event Healthcare. We are looking for a proactive and organised Event Healthcare Coordinator to play a key role in planning and delivering high-quality first aid and medical provision at a wide range of events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment and enjoys building strong relationships with customers, volunteers, and multi‑agency partners. You will take ownership of the end‑to‑end coordination of events within your region, ensuring resources, logistics, staffing, equipment, and operational plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
About You
You will be a highly organised and motivated individual with experience in operational planning, coordination, and delivery, ideally within a fast‑paced or event‑focused environment. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, you will have the confidence to take ownership of end‑to‑end event planning while ensuring exceptional standards of service, safety, and patient care are maintained throughout. You will be an excellent communicator who can build strong working relationships with customers, volunteers, colleagues, and external partners. With the ability to work collaboratively across teams and agencies, you will thrive in situations that require problem‑solving, adaptability, and attention to detail. To be successful in this role, you will have experience using planning systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines. Experience in operations planning, project coordination, or emergency/event environments would be advantageous.
About the Role
- Lead the end‑to‑end planning and coordination of Event Healthcare provision across a range of events and activities
- Develop operations plans, risk assessments, and resource requirements to ensure safe and effective event delivery
- Coordinate staffing, vehicles, equipment, and logistics to meet agreed levels of medical and first aid provision
- Build strong relationships with customers, volunteers, local authorities, and multi‑agency partners to deliver exceptional service
- Monitor event performance, produce reports, and support continuous improvement through effective evaluation and feedback
- Represent St John at planning meetings and contribute to the delivery of large scale and mass participation events
