We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT to lead our digital and systems transformation as part of our ambitious 2025-2030 strategy. This pivotal role will ensure technology effectively supports our people, volunteers and frontline services across Wales. Working closely with senior leaders, external IT providers and internal stakeholders, you will shape and deliver our IT and systems roadmap, driving improvements in digital capability, data insight and operational efficiency. You will play a key role in modernising systems and enabling a high-quality, user-focused experience across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and strategic IT professional who thrives in a standalone role, enjoys influencing at senior level, and is passionate about using technology to make a meaningful impact in a values-driven organisation.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience leading or coordinating IT in a standalone or senior role
  • Strong experience working with third-party IT suppliers or managed service providers
  • A track record of implementing or improving business systems (e.g. CRM, HR, finance or operational systems)
  • The ability to translate operational needs into effective technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, digital systems and data-led decision making
  • Experience using tools such as Power BI to develop meaningful reporting and insights
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to support both staff and volunteers

Desirably, you may also have:

  • Experience within the charity or voluntary sector
  • Experience working with volunteers

You must be committed to our values, demonstrate discretion and professionalism, and be willing to undertake a DBS check and safeguarding training (provided if required).
