The role will develop and support delivery of the total reward strategy across St James's Place (SJP) and Group Companies, as well as providing support to the SJP Partnership in relation to life and critical illness benefits. The role holder will focus on the development and delivery of SJP's employee benefits to include health & wellbeing, protection benefits, voluntary benefits, EV salary sacrifice car scheme and pension. They will also manage the My Rewards portal and support delivery of the annual remuneration review and other reward activities. They will work closely with external providers when relevant and be the 'go to' person for all Stakeholders on the benefits framework.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivery of the SJP benefits proposition, including supporting to formulate the benefit strategy and owning the benefit related policy and procedures such as healthcare benefits, protection benefits, EV salary sacrifice car scheme, holiday, pension to voluntary benefits (dental, SmartTech, buy holiday, cycle to work, discounts hub) applicable to employees across the business and SJP Group; and protection benefits (Life & Critical Illness cover) that apply to the SJP Partnership.
- Manage the relationships with various 3rd party benefit and pension providers.
- Delivery of the benefits renewals, ensuring value for money as well as ensuring benefits administration and services are effective and provide excellent customer service to employees and SJP Partners.
- Prepare financial modelling and budgeting of the costs relating to SJP benefits, articulate costings and proposals to stakeholders for review, consideration and approval.
- Own the My Rewards portal including responsibility for overseeing maintenance and improvements to ensure a great employee experience.
- Develop & deliver aspects of SJP's Total Reward approach and offering, including ownership of specific reward projects (e.g. flexible benefits approach or new voluntary benefits) and liaising and coordinating with various departments across SJP to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop & support the delivery of the annual remuneration review (including remuneration review system build & testing, total reward statement data, bonus sacrifice to pension and outputs for payroll).
- Own aspects of the benchmarking process, including input into annual surveys, ad hoc benchmarking requests or benchmarking projects (across UK and Asia).
- Support total reward projects at SJP and drive continuous Improvement through knowledge of reward best practice, market Insights and SJP employee voice.
Who we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will have proven reward expertise in employee benefits (healthcare & wellbeing, protection, EV company car schemes, pension, benefits platforms and technology). They will understand reward best practice and processes and have experience of reward platforms. They will also have knowledge of reward legislation - Tax and Payroll practices relating to benefits and HR system knowledge (ideally Business World-Unit 4) and excellent Excel skills. They will have excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities and previous management experience. They will be a confident and discreet communicator who is comfortable influencing Stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong knowledge of employee benefit schemes, policies and laws (health, protection, pension, EV car salary sacrifice, wellbeing, voluntary benefits).
- Able to conduct data analysis and cost benefit analysis (benefits trends, effectiveness of benefit schemes, cost projections and cost-saving opportunities, maximising the value for employer and employees).
- Effective communicator - able to interact effectively with employees, Managers and external Providers and navigate complex negotiations with providers, leading on the employee benefits communications.
- Strong organisational knowledge (will be supporting SJP Group Companies) and problem-solving skills - able to solve complex issues relating to benefits administration, compliance and employee concerns.
- Lead and manage a team of 2 Reward Specialists.
