The role
The Data Privacy Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing processes and policies to ensure high standards in data privacy consistent with SJP values and meets the expectations of its clients, advisers, and employees (data subjects).
This includes the supporting privacy compliance across the entire SJP Group and the provision of advice and guidance to effectively mitigate data privacy risks.
This role will involve close interaction and regular contact with all parts of the SJP Group and will focus on supporting all employees and office locations which undertake or influence the processing of personal data including Client, prospects, Advisers/Partners, Partner Support, Employees, 3rd Parties, contractors and other individuals who support SJP.
What you'll be doing
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the SJP Group and employees in relation to data protection and privacy and associated matters.
- Undertake and support the completion of Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) for all new /updated projects where appropriate.
- Review historical processing activity to identify where a DPIA is required.
- Support with 3rd Party Due diligence in relation to Data Protection.
Who we're looking for
- Data privacy experience, preferably gained within a regulated financial services environment.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying the UK Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
- Working knowledge of international data protection legislation (applicable in SJP operating territories)
- Technically competent in Data Protection and comfortable in approaches to understanding data privacy and security risk.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive and self-starting.
- Good stakeholder engagement across a broad range of teams.
