The role:
This person will support the safe and controlled operation of the end-to-end reporting process that feeds into the actuarial valuation elements of the financial reporting, analysis of emerging financial results and financial projections for SJP plc and its key subsidiaries.
What you'll be doing:
- Following processes and procedures underlying the production of key financial and actuarial deliverables of the Finance Team.
- Support the ongoing maintenance, development and documentation of actuarial systems used by the Finance Team.
- Enable the proper operation of checks over data and calculations used for producing key financial and actuarial outputs.
- Work with senior colleagues to help make sensible plans to ensure the Finance Processes team meets the responsibilities required and be proactive in updating others on progress against these plans.
Who we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will be proactively interested in numerical analysis and problem solving, seeking to understand how processes work and how they could be improved. They will have strong knowledge of MS office applications and a willingness to learn bespoke inhouse systems. They will deliver against their responsibilities and be self-motivated and inquisitive, prepared to challenge when necessary. They should be comfortable with numbers and able to demonstrate this. There is no requirement for the candidate to be studying for, or intending to be studying for, the actuarial or accounting qualifications.
