Due to internal movement, we have a rare but exciting opportunity to lead a nationally distributed Operations Support Team that keeps multiple locations running effectively while providing operational and administrative coordination to business leadership groups. This is a highly visible role responsible for people leadership, location operations, and business support, with the opportunity to shape how teams work, improve processes, and support business delivery across the UK as well as act as deputy for the Senior Operations Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set priorities and expectations to support business objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring SLAs are consistently achieved across location related tasks (such as switchboard) and admin support.
  • Handle resources to maintain operational continuity across locations.
  • Handle temporary staffing budget including monitoring, reconciliation, and forecasting.
  • Build strategic awareness by working closely with collaborators to align team priorities.
  • Lead team meetings and business updates to create trust, collaboration, and idea sharing.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve partner and client experience.
  • Communicate business change clearly and support teams through delivery changes.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in place, reviewed, and effective.
  • Lead performance reviews and support promotion and development planning.
  • Contribute insight to corporate decision making.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues across the wider community.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experienced people management and leading team performance.
  • Experience leading operational change, projects, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of operational delivery across multiple locations.
  • Experience in managing an operational team to ensure SLAs are met and workflow is managed effectively.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to balance opposing demands.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Experience using management information to support decision making.

Special Requirements:

The successful person must be able to work from either our Edinburgh office or a London location 4 days per week with 1 day remote. The role also requires quarterly travel to either London or Edinburgh depending on base location.
