The Director of the CIO Office is a pivotal role within the Investment Management, providing critical support to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and serving as a senior link between the Investment team, the Partnership, and external stakeholders. You will lead a team that drives the narrative for the Investment Management team and the CIO, ensuring effective communication of investment strategies and insights across multiple audiences, including internal teams, clients, committees, decision-making investment forums and the media (including broadcast media).
What you'll be doing:
- Investment Narrative & Communication
- Collaborate with the CIO to oversee and shape the Investment Management team's strategic narrative.
- Create compelling and impactful presentations using PowerPoint and other tools to articulate investment strategies and themes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
- Act as a primary spokesperson for the Investment Division at St. James's Place events and Partnership meetings, delivering insightful and engaging presentations.
- Travel & Visibility
- The role requires frequent travel across the UK, including London, Cirencester, and other locations, to represent the Investment Division at Partnership meetings, client events, and other forums.
- Leading organising location meetings, conferences and all partnership interaction.
- Applicants must be prepared for regular nationwide travel and a significant time commitment outside the office environment.
- Public Engagement
- This is a highly visible role, requiring frequent broadcast media appearances and participation in high-profile events to communicate SJP's investment strategies.
- Propositional Development
- Work with the CIO and the Director of Product to evolve the distribution strategy for the Investment Division.
- Provide feedback from the Partnership to inform the development of investment propositions and narratives that align with client needs.
- Governance & Oversight
- Using the wider team, supporting the CIO in governance responsibilities across key regulatory committees and investment decision-making forums.
- Provide oversight to ensure timely and accurate responses to ad hoc requests regarding the performance and positioning of SJP's funds and portfolios.
- Market Insight & Strategy
- Maintain a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and regulatory developments to inform decision-making and communication.
- Ensure alignment between the Investment and Communication teams to deliver high-quality, market-relevant insights.
- Stakeholder Leadership
- Acts as a key stakeholder in the investment process, actively contributing to the strategic decision-making and governance forums.
- The role requires a strong ability to influence, guide, and challenge investment narratives at senior levels.
- Upskilling & Development
- Responsible for the ongoing upskilling of Investment Specialists and Product Specialists, ensuring consistent standards of knowledge and communication across the team.
