The Senior Wealth Planner is responsible for developing and delivering advice on Private Client cases within the Private Client Advice Team. It also requires contribution to and support for the development of new initiatives in relation to the proposition and contribution to Divisional and Private Client communications, as an SME. The role requires technical expertise to produce client-facing advice reports and to support Partners in delivering these to clients.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning, developing and delivering advice and recommendations in relation to Private Client cases, with the skills to work alongside Partners and external professional advisers.
  • Being creative and holistic in identifying & developing Private Client advice solutions, taking into account clients’ broad sets of circumstances and needs.
  • Contributing to shaping the advice proposition and developing new ideas for the presentation and delivery of client reports.
  • Leading and actively participating in delivering advice to eligible Private Clients through in-person meetings and formal presentations. This requires excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly articulate complex information and build strong client relationships.
  • Identifying scalable solutions to manual processes, to improve SLAs and KPIs, whilst supporting divisional projects and the roll-out of new initiatives.
  • Maintaining professional qualifications and technical knowledge, keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative change.
  • Providing content and support for the delivery of the Private Client communications.
  • Leading the training and development of team members, working closely with the Private Client Advice Manager to assess competence, deliver training, and provide ongoing confirmation of capability.
  • Representing Private Clients in relevant project groups and initiatives, including the provision of technical thought leadership in relevant forums to inform the development of HNW advice support.

Who we’re looking for:

A highly qualified, client-facing Private Client specialist with deep technical expertise and the credibility, creativity, and communication skills to deliver holistic, high-quality advice to high-net-worth clients and support Partners.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced technical expertise across taxation, investments, pensions, and estate planning.
  • Proven ability to deliver holistic financial advice to high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial information and translate it into clear, actionable advice.
  • Relationship management skills with clients, Partners, and external professional advisers.
  • High level of commercial awareness and sound decision-making.

Desirable skills:

  • Chartered Financial Planner status (or working towards Chartered status) through a recognised professional body (e.g. CII).
  • Experience shaping or developing financial advice propositions or client solutions.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience supporting junior colleagues’ development.
  • Knowledge of scalable process improvement or operational efficiencies within advice delivery.

Special Requirements:

Please be aware that this position is a Certification role under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
