The Change, Digital & Delivery Directorate plays a critical role in driving strategic growth at SJP by embedding innovative technology into the heart of the business. Focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intelligent Automation (IA), the AI & IA division enhances client, Partner, and employee experiences by delivering intelligent, automated solutions. It leads the development and governance of AI strategy across SJP, ensuring these tools are responsibly and effectively used to unlock efficiencies, improve decision making, and support the company’s long term goals. Sitting at the intersection of technology and business transformation, this division is a key enabler of SJP’s future-facing ambitions.
The Junior Automation Developer is responsible for designing, developing and delivering intelligent automation opportunities across SJP, as well as maintaining existing automated solutions in production. Working closely within the AI and Automation Team, business areas, and SMEs, the role aligns business objectives with process improvements, leveraging intelligent automation technologies and AI to enhance efficiency and productivity.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing, developing and deploying automated processes using Intelligent Automation, including RPA and related technologies.
- Responding promptly to production issues, analysing and resolving root causes to ensure smooth operation.
- Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and share knowledge with the division.
- Undertaking training on new technologies and platforms to enable SJP to meet its intelligent automation objectives.
- Maintaining clear and regular communication with stakeholders regarding project progress, issues, and updates.
- Participating in end-to-end project delivery, ensuring that solutions align with business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Tracking milestones, resolving blockers, and presenting updates to stakeholders.
- Evaluating proposed processes for automation suitability and recommend enhancements.
- Acting as an advocate for automation and provide training and support to colleagues.
- Ensuring all automated processes are accurately documented and stored within project management tools such as Jira.
- Adhering to governance frameworks and review automation procedures regularly to identify and address gaps.
- Working with third parties to define deliverables and ensure milestones are met.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a Junior Automation Developer who will work collaboratively with agile development teams, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion often with minimal guidance.
Essential Criteria:
- Broad knowledge of all intelligent automation techniques such as automation, IDP, Chatbot, NLP, AI and Machine Learning.
- Experience leading small projects and the development lifecycle of automation projects and agile development.
- Experience developing automated solutions using low/no code and high code solutions.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and presenting to groups/supporting workshops.
- Experience supporting and working closely with project manager, business analysts, solution consultants and architecture on Automation and AI related projects.
Desirable Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar STEM subject.
- Proven experience keeping up to date with the industry and market advances in the IA arena.
- High levels of learning and obtaining relevant IA certifications and other qualifications required to complete the role to the best standard.
