The Client Reporting Strategy Lead plays a critical role within St. James’s Place, accountable for the end‑to‑end strategy, transformation, and ongoing ownership of the regulatory and client reporting ecosystem across a complex, highly regulated wealth management environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Serve as Product Owner for the client reporting domain, defining the vision, roadmap, and strategic priorities for regulatory and client reporting.
- Own the end‑to‑end reporting lifecycle, from data sourcing and calculation through to content presentation, distribution, and archival.
- Lead the transformation of legacy reporting platforms and processes into a scalable, resilient, and client‑centric reporting ecosystem.
- Ensure all client reporting meets regulatory requirements, including FCA rules, Consumer Duty outcomes, and jurisdiction‑specific obligations for international clients.
- Define and deliver the roadmap for evolving client reporting from print‑led outputs to richer, digital‑first experiences within the secure client app.
- Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, reducing manual effort, risk, and operational cost while improving speed and quality.
- Act as the central point of accountability for reporting‑related change across Operations, Technology, Data, Finance, Compliance, and Client Experience teams.
- Define success metrics for client reporting, covering accuracy, timeliness, client comprehension, digital adoption, and operational performance.
- Produce regular reporting and insight for senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and progress against the roadmap.
Who we’re looking for:
- Significant experience leading multidisciplinary teams or virtual teams across product, operations, technology, or change functions.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or senior reporting/change lead within financial services or wealth management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory client reporting, investment performance reporting, and data‑driven financial communications.
- Demonstrable experience working in highly regulated environments with complex governance and control frameworks.
- Experience owning large‑scale, customer‑facing platforms or processes with material regulatory and reputational risk.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and bridge business, regulatory, and technical teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and client outcomes.
- Wealth Management/Asset Management/Retail Banking knowledge and experience.
Desirable Criteria:
- Formal Product Owner/Agile certification (e.g., CSPO).
- Previous experience working in a Value Stream environment.
- Experience delivering digital reporting or data visualisation solutions for retail financial clients.
- Familiarity with content compliance processes, audit requirements, and governance frameworks.
- Exposure to international regulatory reporting requirements.
Special Requirements:
The role is a blend of office and home based, although travel to other locations and events is likely, with occasional requirement for overnight stay.
