The role:

This role sits within the Business Continuity and Operational Resilience team, a collaborative team of four, focused on maintaining strategies to prevent and withstand organisational disruptions, ensuring vital business operations for the SJP Group continue with minimal impact, with plans in place to resume business operations after a disruption takes place. This role supports the development, maintenance, improvement and implementation of the Group Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and Operational Resilience (OR) framework.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll maintain the quality and relevance of data held within the business continuity and operational resilience (BC&OR) software, undertaking data analysis relating to resources and dependencies within BC&OR processes to improve planning and response capabilities.
  • Supporting the implementation of the BCMS across the Group through the activities required in the assurance programme.
  • Manage the testing and exercising programme for the mass communication process.
  • Support the business in the implementation, review and maintenance of the business impact analysis process.
  • Analyse data to identify inconsistencies across Group to highlight areas for improvement or synergies.
  • Validate the quality of data held within the business continuity programme.
  • Support engagement assessments of the business owners with suppliers in relation to business continuity, through managing the questionnaire responses and actions.
  • Manage the access to and content of the SharePoint site and specialist software and undertake training for the Major Incident Response Team members.
  • Support Major Incident response teams in both exercises and incidents, ensuring post exercise or incident reports are produced with learnings and actions agreed.
  • Support the implementation, and continual improvement of the OR framework across the Group, including understanding of any regulatory or guidance changes.
  • Validate the quality of data held within process maps.
  • Assist with the review of impact tolerances based on data relating to incidents and service.
  • Support the testing programme through the development of scenarios, participating in the running of exercises and lessons learnt.

Required is a willingness to develop a knowledge of the Business Continuity life cycle, and learn more about the business operations at SJP. Business analysis skills for the purposes of helping define new and optimising existing business processes. Data savvy, with the ability to analyse and present data, producing reports in a meaningful way. Excellent communication skills at all levels – verbal and written. A collaborative and team-focussed approach. Develop and keep up-to-date with the regulatory requirements of Operational Resilience. Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills; able to prioritise a range of tasks and deliver high quality output in a timely manner. Advanced user of Microsoft Office/Outlook/PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with full O365 suite desirable (SharePoint/OneNote). Experience of using Power BI an advantage. Knowledge of project management techniques and best practice an advantage.
