The Role

We are hiring two organised, detail‑conscious Coordinators (known internally as Appointments Specialists) to join our Regulatory Authorisations (AR) function. You’ll help ensure new advisers and partners meet our internal and FCA requirements, work closely with recruits and colleagues across the business, and be responsible for your application pipeline, playing a meaningful role in protecting our client outcomes.

Who We Are Seeking

You’ll bring a proactive, methodical approach, strong attention to detail and confidence communicating with a range of collaborators. You enjoy working in a process‑driven environment, are comfortable handling multiple cases at once, and take pride in producing accurate, high‑quality work. You don’t need to be a regulatory expert already. You must be keen to learn, comfortable with technical information, and motivated to help ensure excellent client outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Running a portfolio of adviser, partner and introducer applications, keeping cases progressing and ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Reviewing SJP applications and supporting documentation, carrying out required checks to assess fitness, propriety and suitability
  • Collaborating with recruits, internal colleagues and external providers to acquire outstanding information, references and regulatory checks
  • Completing DBS, credit, financial and online searches to support application assessment
  • Identifying key risks within applications (e.g., financial issues, disciplinary history, previous business activities) and advancing non‑standard cases to senior colleagues
  • Crafting documentation for review by the Appointments Consultant
  • Maintaining high accuracy within our CRM tool – Salesforce and other internal systems
  • Providing clear, professional mentorship or guidance to partners and managers for applications

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working in one of the following areas: financial services, onboarding, compliance, risk or documentation, or a similarly regulated or methodical environment
  • Demonstrable experience in drafting high‑quality documentation or reporting
  • Ability to work to procedures and maintain high levels of accuracy when processing information

Desirable Criteria

  • Awareness of FCA Fitness & Propriety requirements or regulated vetting processes
  • Experience reviewing applications, carrying out checks or handling sensitive information
  • Experience supporting applicants, collaborators or customers within a regulated setting
  • Exposure to risk assessment, due diligence or investigative administrative work

What’s in it for you?

We reward you for the work you do, whether that’s through our discretionary annual bonus scheme that reflects both personal and company performance, competitive annual leave allowance (28 days plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days), or online rewards platform with a variety of discounts. We also have benefits to support whatever stage of life you are in, including:

  • Competitive parental leave (26 weeks full pay)
  • Private medical insurance (optional taxable benefit)
  • 10% non‑contributory pension (increasing with length of service)

Reasonable Adjustments

We’re an equal‑opportunity employer and want to ensure our recruitment process is accessible and inclusive for all. If you require reasonable adjustment(s) at any stage please let us know by emailing us at careers@sjp.co.uk. Research tells us that applicants (especially those from underrepresented groups) can be put off from applying for a role if they do not meet all the criteria or have been on an extended career‑break. If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience, please apply regardless of whether you tick every box.

Next steps

If you’re excited about this role and believe you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit an application by clicking “apply” below and our team will be in touch. As a business regulated by the FCA we would advise you to familiarise yourself with the conduct regulations and, in particular, consumer duty obligations prior to an interview with SJP.
