The Role:

The Risk Consultant (RC) is the risk specialist who drives and advocates an outstanding risk function to ensure that our SJP Wealth Partner Practices grow safely using a forward-looking, data-led approach to Risk Management. They are also responsible for completing a programme of Risk management activities such as Regulatory Reviews and identifying Partner and SJP Risks.

What will you be doing:

  • Complete Partner Engagement Programmes & Firm Reviews on an annual and ad-hoc basis.
  • Influence Partner Practices to implement regulatory change and navigate regulation and internal risk process.
  • Use expert knowledge of the risks posed and collaborate closely with the Partnership to conclude issues including:
  • Utilise available data to identify trends and emerging issues.
  • Advance breaches that require investigation to the 2nd Line investigation team.
  • Coordinate the implementation of corrective AR actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with 1st line teams, including Supervision, Academy, Early Years and Business Partnering to provide risk expertise and guidance.
  • Assist with internal audits, investigation lessons learnt exercises and internal oversight reviews to maintain appropriate procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or the commitment to acquire once successful.
  • Understanding of financial services regulations, risk frameworks, and the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret Risk data, financial information, and management reports to detect trends, highlight risks, and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of proactively prioritising and leading multiple stakeholders with a risk or highly regulated environment or industry.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM.
  • Coaching or mentorship experience in a Risk environment.
  • Commercial understanding & balanced risk oversight that supports business growth.

Special Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to our UK Partnership and Business Locations on occasion.
