About the Role
At St. James's Place, our Group Products Division plays a critical role in designing and overseeing the products and services we offer to clients. We ensure they remain competitively priced, support sustainable business growth, and most importantly deliver positive, fair client outcomes.
We're now looking for a graduate-level Actuarial Analyst to join the team. What You'll Be Doing
- You'll work closely with colleagues across the division and wider business, contributing to both day-to-day activity and longer-term projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the development, testing, and maintenance of advice tools and product illustrations.
- Providing actuarial and technical support to stakeholders across the SJP Group, including our Partnership (financial advisers).
- Supporting calculations such as Capital Gains Tax and Critical Yield analysis, as well as product functionality queries.
- Working alongside Actuarial Managers, Consultants and Leads on projects and workstreams.
- Helping to maintain product documentation and tools to robust audit standards.
- Building effective relationships with teams across the business and third parties.
- Producing analysis and insights to support informed business decision-making.
Essential Criteria:
- We're looking for someone with strong analytical capability, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in building a career in actuarial work.
- You'll have a degree in a numerate or analytical subject (e.g. Maths, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Actuarial Science), ideally a 2:1 or above.
- A clear commitment to studying towards the IFoA actuarial qualification, with the motivation and discipline to succeed.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex issues and develop practical solutions.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise competing demands.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from others.
- Some coding knowledge (e.g. R, VBA) would be advantageous but is not essential.
