To take the lead on all matters related to Corporation Tax across the SJP group. To support the Group Tax Director, ensuring we report and pay the right amount in line with the Tax strategy, policy and practice for the Group.
What you'll be doing:
- Head of a team of Corporate Tax professionals (3 direct reports)
- Responsible for the Corporation Tax compliance and regulatory requirements, Including returns and payments to HMRC as prepared by team members for ultimate sign off by Group Tax Director.
- Responsible for monthly, interim and year end reporting processes, including the tax contribution of the SJP funds and associated tax aspects of the Solvency II reporting.
- Responsible for international aspects of the group, including the Transfer pricing documentation, CbCR requirements, Pillar Two requirements and oversight of tax compliance in overseas jurisdictions.
- Tax lead on Corporation Tax projects as required.
- To keep up to date with changing legislation and practice in both the UK and abroad to support the Group Tax Director in identifying changes relevant to the SJP Worldwide Group.
- Main point of contact with external providers of tax services (StateStreet, EY and Deloitte tax teams).
- Member of the Tax Committee contributing on UK and overseas corporation tax issues.
- Member of the finance leadership group and the Skills and Development SLT subgroup.
Essential Criteria
- Strong corporation tax and industry experience -ideally within financial services
- One (or more) of CTA (Chartered Tax Advisor), ACA (Chartered Accountant) or ACCA (Certified Accountant)
- Ability to work as a team to ensure tight deadlines are met
- Ability to build rapport quickly with a wide ranging stakeholder group
