The College of Preachers is seeking a dynamic Director of Learning and Communications to take forward its mission to offer the very best in resourcing and developing the ecumenical preaching community. The post offers a rewarding opportunity for a person who is passionate about preaching and keen to contribute to its renewal.
Responsibilities
- To plan a rolling programme of events, on Zoom and face to face, to equip preachers at all levels of experience.
- To stimulate the market for bespoke learning and to process requests and assign appropriate tutors.
- To lead occasional workshops and an online monthly Preachers' Forum and to develop other resources.
- To recruit, resource, monitor and support our team of tutors.
- To raise the profile of the College as the 'go to' organisation for preachers.
- To develop relationships with ecumenical and ministerial training structures and other lay training agencies.
- Able to demonstrate a high commitment to the practice and continuing reflection and study of effective preaching.
- Alert to the current cultural and intellectual context and its challenges and opportunities in preaching the gospel.
- Competent in theology and aware of current issues in biblical studies, hermeneutics and homiletic developments, to ensure that the College continues to be a conduit for fresh and varied approaches to preaching.
- Have proven experience in Christian Adult learning.
- Competent in theology and homiletics so as to ensure the College offers fresh approaches to preaching.
The current post is 0.5 at pro rata the National Minimum Stipend, working from home.
