St James School is seeking an experienced and passionate educator to join our team as a specialist literacy and mathematics teacher. The ideal candidate will be skilled in providing remedial teaching and accelerating student learning through evidence‑based practices. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team with open and positive communication - great sense of humour, a plus!
Successful candidates will work with students who need targeted support in literacy and numeracy, helping to close learning gaps and boost achievement. This role is 0.2 maths acceleration (fixed term due to board funding) and 0.4 literacy intervention. It is a Monday - Friday role and teaching takes place in the morning.
Key responsibilities:- Delivering individualised and group instruction in literacy and mathematics.
- Using proven, research‑based methods to support students in need of remedial help or accelerated learning.
- Collaborating frequently with classroom teachers and parents to create personalised learning plans that ensure student success.
- Reporting accurately on progress made and next learning steps.
