OBJECTIVES: Under the general guidance of the Front of House Manager and in accordance with St. James Hotel & Club Policies and Procedures, the Assistant Front of House Manager is entrusted with the supervision, coordination, and training of all Reception Team. This role includes active participation in clerical duties related to arriving, in-house, and departing guests, ensuring that every guest receives high-quality, personalized service consistent with the standards of St. James Hotel & Club. Ideally one year experience in a similar role.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Inspiring the team to consistently provide outstanding service and exceed guests' expectations.
- Lead by example and foster team dynamics to ensure the team remain focused on meeting guests' needs.
- Make sure that all relevant guest information and preferences are shared with the correct operational departments.
- Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure that the reception desk is manned 24 hours a day.
- Always be available to deal with all guest queries and complaints.
- Assist the Front of House Manager with any other relevant and necessary tasks as required.
- On occasions may be required to cover Night Manager shifts.
- Assist fellow employees to perform similar or related jobs as and when necessary.
- Continuously endeavour to improve job knowledge.
- Attend any meetings or training sessions/courses as required.
- Accept changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to hotel guests and patrons.
- Undertake any reasonable request made by management.
- Clean and maintain the work area, materials, and equivalent.
- Report defective materials and equipment to superior.
- Maintain a professional image on duty, including a polite and courteous manner, cheerful disposition and punctuality.
