About Us: St Ivo Academy is a large 11-18 comprehensive academy with a proud 70-year history, serving around 1400 students, including a vibrant Sixth Form. We are inclusive and truly comprehensive, supporting students from all backgrounds and abilities—from those preparing for Oxbridge to our most vulnerable learners. We were rated as ‘Good’ in all areas in our most recent Ofsted inspection. Our ethos is simple: work hard, be kind, achieve more. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted literacy interventions to individuals and small groups of pupils to improve reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Plan and adapt engaging literacy sessions tailored to pupils' needs, including those with SEND or low reading ages.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and providing regular feedback to teaching staff and leaders.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards reading and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and wider staff to align interventions with classroom learning.
  • Promote a love of reading and literacy across the school through initiatives, resources, and targeted support.
