We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Food Truck Supervisor to run one of our busy pizza trucks for the rest of the 2026 season. Situated right on the edge of St Ives harbour overlooking the sea, this role offers the best workplace view in town, but also the chance to lead a talented team in a fun and professional environment. You’ll be the right‑hand person for our Manager with specific responsibilities, as well as deputising and leading service when they are on days off.

We have a team of two to five staff each evening, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer experiences, so you’ll be a part of the leadership duo driving performance when needed, while also knowing when to let the team relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Supervisor level experience and proven leadership capability in a hospitality business.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced kitchen is helpful.
  • Confidence in managing customer interactions is important.
  • High standards, love of food, attention to detail, energy and pace.

To summarise, our pizza truck is a place where a busy kitchen and front‑of‑house are pretty much one – there’s nowhere to hide! If you’re front of house with some hands‑on kitchen experience, you’ll be great. Likewise, if you’re a chef and are super customer friendly, you’re also a strong candidate.

Our teams are often made up of college and university students aged 16–22, many of whom return year after year. You’ll be leading a group of talented, enthusiastic pizza‑makers who already know their craft. We’re also strong believers in work‑life balance. With Supervisor shifts starting at anything between 12 and 3:00 pm, your mornings are often free to enjoy the beach, surf, or simply relax. A pre‑shift swim or surf session at one of St Ives’ beautiful beaches can easily become part of your daily routine.

Training and Support

  • An induction at Stoned HQ (North Devon), including time at our flagship site under the instruction of our most experienced teams.
  • Weekly meetings with your Manager for sharing operational issues.
  • Monthly Management meetings at Stoned HQ (in‑person) where you’ll share best practices, learn, and connect with other managers.
  • Ongoing training and development.

Ideal Candidate Checklist

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Supervisor role within the food, drink or hospitality sector.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Kitchen experience (any setting) with food handling knowledge.
  • Confidence, independence, and strong decision‑making skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure while producing high‑quality products at speed.
  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to uphold and maintain high standards.

Shift Details

  • Seasonal contract with hourly pay.
  • The team generally starts at 15:30 and finishes between 21:00–23:00, depending on the season.
