St Helen's Prep School is looking to appoint a Full Time Prep Teacher who is able to start in September 2026.
This position will teach key stage 1 and 2. All teachers are expected to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning by:
- Implementing and delivering an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and adapted curriculum for students, in line with the curriculum policies of the school, and supporting the school vision and values.
- Facilitating, supporting and monitoring the overall progress and development of all students.
- Fostering a stimulating and creative learning environment, which provides students with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potential.
- Promoting a growth mind-set, which is conducive to the good management of teaching and learning.
- Promoting the School Character Attributes and Learner Habits.
- Setting high expectations for students' behaviour and maintaining a high standard of discipline through well-focused teaching, fostering positive relationships and implementing the school's behaviour policy.
- Communicating effectively with parents of students.
- Setting homework in accordance with the school's homework policy.
- Marking work in accordance with the school's marking policy.
- Having a good understanding of the curriculum they are following.
- Keeping up to date on current thinking around child development, teaching pedagogy and metacognition.
- Taking a full and active role in the life of the school and Co-Curricular programme.
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students and adhering to and ensuring compliance with the School's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
Other Duties:
- Carrying out duties that may reasonably be required by the Phase Leader/Director.
- Supporting and promoting the school's ethos, aims and objectives.
- Working towards and supporting the school vision and the current school objectives outlined in the School Strategic Plan.
- Working within the School's health and safety policy to ensure a safe working environment for staff, students, and visitors.
- Promoting equality of opportunity for all students and staff.
- Helping sustain a school culture and curriculum which promotes an ethical education for all, including promoting positive strategies for challenging discrimination of any kind.
- Maintaining high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and positive, courteous relations with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Engaging actively in the performance review process.
