Regulatory Services Compliance Officer (Noise Control)
Located in the heart of the North West, close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens Council’s Environmental Protection Team seeks a motivated professional to lead noise and vibration investigations across the borough. The role will protect residents and communities from noise nuisance and support planning, licensing and major events.
Responsibilities
- Lead noise and vibration investigations for commercial, industrial and domestic premises.
- Use acoustic monitoring equipment and software to assess noise and vibration levels.
- Provide expert technical advice on planning applications, licensing matters and major events.
- Contribute to enforcement action and represent the Council at committees, hearings and court proceedings.
Qualifications
- Qualified environmental protection professional with strong knowledge of noise control legislation.
- Excellent investigative and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical information and provide clear, practical and proportionate solutions.
Work Arrangements
Employees can regularly work away from Council workspaces, including home or other locations. The balance between remote and office-based work is determined at service level based on operational need; staff will work at least two days from an office-based location.
