Sherdley Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative EYFS Class Teacher to join our friendly and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where professional development is encouraged, and every child is valued. Required for September 2026, the role is temporary in the first instance.

We seek an outstanding teacher with several years’ experience and a proven track record of raising attainment. The ideal candidate has experience in an EYFS Reception setting and is adaptable across a variety of age phases. Candidates should highlight their curriculum strengths in their application. Early Career Teachers with adequate placement experience in the Early Years are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Be very clear about their school experience and subject strengths
  • Be an excellent, experienced classroom practitioner with a thorough working knowledge of the curriculum across a variety of age phases
  • Demonstrate high expectations for all pupils, including key groups such as PPG and SEN
  • Promote outstanding behaviour for learning
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management strategies and outstanding pastoral care
  • Use effectively a wide range of creative approaches to the delivery of the curriculum
  • Willing to contribute to the wider life of the school community, including after‑school clubs and activities

Qualifications

  • Several years of teaching experience in the EYFS or suitable early years setting.
  • Proven track record of raising attainment.
  • Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum and ability to adapt lessons across age phases.
  • Experience working with key groups such as PPG and SEN.
  • Evidence of effective behaviour management and pastoral care.
