Nurture the Potential to Succeed. Newton-le-Willows Primary is looking for an experienced HLTA with a proven track record of improving attainment to join our caring, nurturing, forward-thinking school as soon as possible. We are looking for someone who has the enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives and learning of all our children. The post will entail whole class teaching across school, covering classes from Reception to Year 6, and we are therefore looking for someone who can demonstrate experience in each of the Primary phases – Early Years, KS1 & KS2.

We are a popular and successful three-form entry Primary School with a Nursery provision. We have a hard-working team of teachers and support staff who work effectively together, as well as an enthusiastic and supportive Governing Body. All staff are committed to ensuring every child is safe and has access to the highest quality learning opportunities and achieves the best they can in every class. We also have an effective pastoral system which supports pupils and families, promotes and maintains excellent behaviour and addresses barriers to learning quickly and effectively. The post is fixed term until 31 08 2027.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a minimum of an HLTA qualification, or above
  • has recent experience covering whole classes across both Key Stages 1 and 2 and Early Years
  • demonstrates outstanding practice and works well within a team
  • promotes outstanding behaviour for learning
  • demonstrates excellent behaviour management strategies and outstanding pastoral care
  • uses a wide range of creative approaches to deliver the curriculum
  • is able to enrich the life of the school
  • is innovative, inspirational and passionate about children’s learning
  • is highly motivated, with energy and enthusiasm
  • demonstrates high expectations for all pupils, including key groups such as Pupil Premium and SEND
  • is an excellent communicator
  • is eager to develop their skills and experience
  • is committed to safeguarding, welfare and personal development of young people
