Role Overview

As a Caretaker in our schools, you will be responsible for the care, security, general maintenance and operational effectiveness of our school buildings. Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Key holding and access management
  • Organising contractors for repairs
  • Managing cleaning equipment and ventilation
  • Maintaining grounds and horticultural areas
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
  • Completing routine paperwork and record keeping
  • Communicating effectively with staff, pupils and external parties

Key Requirements

  • Good practical experience in cleaning and general maintenance
  • Basic DIY skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and hazards
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle situations sensitively
  • Organisational skills for working with others and completing paperwork
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure is required
  • Strong commitment to inclusion and diversity
