LECTURER IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Permanent/Full-time – 36 hours per week. Salary £32,898 to £42,198 per annum, inclusive of market supplement. Are you passionate about Mechanical Engineering? Would you like support in completing a teaching qualification and starting a new and rewarding career in further education? If yes, this opportunity could be for you. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and knowledge at Further Education levels and inspire the next generation. Working in a vibrant and positive learning environment, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing students on Mechanical Engineering programmes mainly Levels 1, 2 and 3. Excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm and passion for teaching with the ability to motivate and inspire students is essential. Applicants welcome from recent graduates, experienced teachers with a background in Mechanical Engineering and time served Engineers looking for a career in teaching. Support will be available to undertake a teaching qualification.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Teach and assess students on Mechanical Engineering programmes, mainly Levels 1–3.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm and passion for teaching with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience of industry
  • Experience of Manual Turning, Milling & Bench Fitting
  • Minimum of level 3 in Engineering
  • Relevant teaching qualification or willing to achieve within a set period from appointment
  • GCSE English & Math (A-C)
