Making A Difference as a Prevent Development Officer in the Communities Department.
St Helens Borough Council seeks to appoint a Prevent Development Officer to join the Community Safety Team. The key functions of the role include the local development and delivery of training, awareness and programmes to support the objectives of the national Prevent Strategy, which is part of the wider Government CONTEST Strategy.
The successful applicant will work in close partnership with colleagues within the Council, Police, and a range of other agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach to activity to reduce the harm and risk to individuals and the community. Good partnership work with local communities is central to the successful delivery of the Prevent objectives within St Helens. This role of the Prevent Development Officer will identify, build, and maintain a network of community contacts to improve coordination of Prevent delivery.
If you have experience in a related service area, have excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a multi-agency environment, this post offers the opportunity to work flexibly whilst assisting in the delivery of the local Prevent Action Plan.
This role is subject to a DBS check.
