Enjoying unique lifestyle opportunities, St Helena Island is a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Although better placed to develop economically and socially as a result of opening our international airport in 2017, we are not at the stage of self-sufficiency and remain dependent on UK government aid.
Responsibilities
- Your role will cover direct clinical duties, oral health promotion across the population, health information management, clinical supervision and training.
- You should offer a full range of general dental services, plus scaling and periodontal treatment for patients in the absence of the Dental Hygienist.
- You must help to provide an emergency dental service, in and out of hours and assist in the training and CPD of other members of the dental team.
Qualifications
- As a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (or equivalent) with registration and good standing with the UK General Dental Council or equivalent body, you are clinically up to date with CPD requirements and with the latest guidelines, policies and procedures.
- You have substantial primary dental care experience and proof of Hepatitis B immunity.
- In addition, you must demonstrate our core values of fairness, integrity and teamwork and use your diverse expertise and experiences to ensure your time on the Island has the broadest benefit to St Helena.
- As an officer funded through the Technical Co-Operation Programme you will be expected to share your knowledge and skills beyond the workplace contributing to workforce, community and capacity development in St Helena.
