Are you a proactive, relationship-focused individual with a passion for community engagement and supporting people facing disadvantage? Do you have experience working collaboratively with partners and engaging individuals who may face barriers to participation? If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a highly motivated Senior Engagement Officer to play a key role in delivering an exciting community heritage project in partnership with the National Trust.

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

About the Project

This innovative new project will create opportunities for people who are often excluded from heritage and community spaces. Working in partnership with the National Trust at Aberdulais, the project will:

  • Recruit, train and support new volunteers using our lived experience peer-led model
  • Deliver community events and activities to engage local people and visitors
  • Increase access to heritage and nature, improving wellbeing
  • Build a more diverse and sustainable volunteer base
